One of the funniest gals I knew, we had such fun in jr high and high school (much to Mrs. Newburg's dismay).  Always in trouble for laughing and/or passing notes, especially in biology.  I was a bad influence, uh oh, sorry.

Marilyn was so much fun.  She always wrote poems about people and things that were just hilarious.  She could make anyone laugh.  She was madly in love with Tom McGraw  and wrote poems about him all the time.  I had my basic sex education at her house.  We had a book that described everything.  If her mom knew she would  have had  a fit.  Lots of great memories!

Marilyn was my best friend. We used to shop for matching blouses at the dimestore at Eastland, so we could dress alike! My mom called us "Eastland Bums." The librarian at Burbank told Marilyn her red hair was "too exotic a color" for a young girl. It was natural carrot top. We both went to St. James Presbyterian Church on Morang, and a new family moved into town and joined our church, Jim and Charlene St. Peters. They had two sons, Charles and Larry. Marilyn was still madly in love with Tom McGraw, but she also had eyes for Chuck.

I stayed in touch with Marilyn's mom and dad after Marilyn died. They were so thoughtful. They have both passed away. I just visited Marilyn's grave at White Chapel Cemetery off I-75 a year or so ago, for the first time.

Marilyn was a sweet girl whio left us much too soon.  (How embarrassing for a teacher to tell a young girl that her red hair was "too exotic".  Marilyn proably blushed redder than ever!
