Can't even begin to cover the life & times of the 2 of us teenagers together through EDH & beyond. What a lot of fun & shenanigans. Cathy was the funniest, most life-loving person I've ever known.  She absolutely refused to see life's dark side. And she was kind & generous to a fault.  Plus, she had the biggest boobs of anyone in school. Some might have been envious, but she was always trying to figure out a way to "reduce" them.  Of course nothing we conjured up worked!  Throughout our marriages, baby-raising, moves, divorce (hers) & illness we remained great friends right up 'til the bitter end. Bev Carlson (Huard) & Janet Pethke have always been Cathy's best buddies & we all miss her soooooo terribly.  A very bright light went out of this world when she left us. She was so brave & never admitted defeat even on her last day.  Her boys gave her a beautiful funeral service with all the hymns she loved & all the family & friends had Coney Dogs in her honor afterwards! Love abides, dear friend.

I met Cathy Rehn at Denby High School.  She was my constant and true friend until the day she passed away on March 5, 2010.  I sat at her bedside with her sons and Jan Pethke in her last few hours of life and was grateful to do so.  Cathy had it all - a zany sense of humor , positive attitude, spirtual strength and zest for life.  She saw the good in everything, everyone and her patience and love for her family was amazing.  She instilled her best characteristics in her three sons, as their personalities sparkle of Cathy's influence.  I remain in touch with her boys and grandkids and we visit whenever we can.  When Cathy's kids and my kids were young, they thought they were cousins - well they were - sort of!!!  I truly miss our bi-weekly coney dog outings, phone conversations, kitchen table chats and her bright outlook on life.  Even when Cathy was in very poor health and running out of energy, she was always thinking of others with meaningful kindnesses.  What a gal!  Cathy's passing definitely put a hole in my heart and I will remember her always.    Rest in peace dear friend!
