I was so saddened to learn of Carol's passing. I had googled her a few weeks just because I was thinking of her and that's how I found out. Carol was a wonderful girl/woman and I know there are many people mourning her loss. God Bless You, Jimmy.
Was so sorry to learn of Carol's passing. I have extremely fond memories of spending much time with her & her family during our Wayne Elem. School years. The Nelsons were a terrific family. We all attended the same neighborhood church (Holy Communion Lutheran on Whittier). I remember the mutual teasing with her brother, Rusty, & the birth of "Barbie". Carol was an avid horse-lover as a little girl & collected all sizes, shapes, colors & breeds of figurines. She knew EVERYTHING about EVERY ONE of those things. We "hung out" with a great group of kids from Wayne School & I have often wondered about her & the gang throughout the years. Carol was exceptionally bright, bubbly, & bound to succeed. However, her blond, wavy hair caused her much consternation, even as a child. We both had "hair" issues growing up -- while hers was wavy, mine was poker-straight & our mothers did some very strange things to our heads during these formative years. So, we commisserated often. We had a lot of laughs together but regretfully grew apart after our Wayne years. With sadness I recall the struggle her mother encountered with breast cancer & subsequently succumbing at an early age. And now, just today, I learned of Carol's passing at a young age, also, My heart is grieved by this knowledge. She was a great childhood buddy & leaves me with many pleasurable memories.
I admired and loved Carol in high school. She had so much to offer the world. I am so sorry she is with us now only in our memories. God bless her family and friends.
I was saddened to read about Carol's passing at such a young age. When I read Kathy Munn's comment, I was so touched because I was part of the "Holy Communion gang"--if Lutherans can actually be gangstas. I think we were all in the same Confirmation Class. Jimmy Imhoff was my boyfriend in Fifth Grade and I always felt Carol stole him away--but, deep down, I knew it wasn't true. He was so smitten with her--I remember him turning to her in Mr. Duggan's class (9th Grade, Wayne Junior High) and announcing that he was going to marry her. Sure enough. . . .
She was a lovely, talented, compassionate and kind person. She and Jim were at our 30th Reunion and it was great to see them and hear about their life together in Washington. Our world is less bright and cheerful without her.

I remember some classes we had together, cheerleading with her, and a pajama party at her home (found my bra in the freezer the next day; remember that old gag?). She was so much fun to be around, and I, along with her other classmates, will really feel the loss at the Reunion. My sympathy to Jim, and her other family members.
